MMK-COAL concludes cooperation agreement with Kuzbass government
MMK-COAL (MMK’s coal mining subsidiary) has concluded an agreement on socio-economic cooperation with the Kemerovo region. The agreement was signed by Vladimir Kharchenko, Director of MMK-COAL, and Ilya Seredyuk, First Deputy Governor and Chairman of the regional government.
In accordance with its commitments, MMK-COAL will continue to invest in the region’s development. As in previous years, the company will help finance municipal social projects in the Belovsky and Leninsk-Kuznetsky urban districts as well as the Belovsky municipal district. Funds will be invested in communal services, facilities for children and a variety of social, cultural and sports institutions in the above-mentioned districts.
A portion of the investments outlined in the agreement will support projects of social importance in the Kuzbass region. MMK-COAL has regularly provided material assistance to the V. P. Romanov Memorial Fund. This year, the company will provide assistance to the Great Martyr Barbara Kuzbass Clinical Centre for Miners’ Health in the city of Leninsk-Kuznetsk.
“We have always focused on supporting the regions where our assets are located. Among other things, we have built or rebuilt numerous sports and cultural facilities, taken part in projects of social importance and provided targeted assistance. We are growing and increasing our production capacity. Last year, for example, we added another production site, the S. D. Tikhov mine. Increased production expands our opportunities for social investment. Everything we do, we do for people, to establish a positive social environment in the region. And we will continue this tradition of doing good,” said Mr Kharchenko.
MMK-COAL meets its obligations to the Kuzbass government in full every year, guided by the high standards of the social policy of its parent company, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works.
