MMK Takes Part in Asia’s Largest Metallurgical Forum

Experts from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) will present a wide range of MMK’s metal products at the International Metal & Metallurgy Exhibition, which kicks off on 18 May in Guangzhou, China.

The markets of China and other Asian countries are among the most promising destinations for MMK’s export sales. In 2022, PRC became the second largest export destination for MMK products beyond the CIS, with a share of 18%. Today, due to the gradual removal of COVID-related restrictions, there are even broader prospects for cooperation with consumers in the region, where MMK used to supply more than 1 million tonnes of steel products annually in the early 2000s.

MMK, which currently holds a leading position in the Russian market for rolled steel, has an attractive product offering for Chinese partners. The Company is Russia's No. 1 supplier of steel products for the automotive industry, the country’s sole producer of tinplate steel, and the leading supplier of galvanized and painted steel with a unique, high-quality coating. MMK offers a range of other premium products, including thick plates for the pipe industry and the MAGSTRONG brand line of high-strength and wear-resistant steel, which is used for heavy-duty steel structures, cranes, mining, agricultural and other machinery.

The International Metal & Metallurgy Exhibition is taking place 18-20 May, 2023. The event brings together several highly specialised exhibitions featuring the latest products and state-of-the-art technologies in the metals industry. Participants will discuss current topics in the industry during a series of round tables, presentations, seminars and a scientific conference. The annual event is organised by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce with support from the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province. The participants of this year’s event include 780 companies from 30 countries.
