MegaFon Will Create a Digital Fleet Management Platform for MMK

MegaFon will develop a digital platform for the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works that automates the management, control and analysis of equipment operation. The system will unite over a thousand vehicles, from passenger cars to mining and loading and unloading vehicles, and will also accumulate data on transportation organized by contractors. The economic effect from the launch of the solution will be over 30 million rubles annually.

"For the first time in Russia, a telecom operator will transfer the management of an industrial fleet of such a scale from manual to digital mode. Intelligent settings of the software package will allow to assign the best transport, contractors and route, will be able to automatically control processes, leaving only corrective actions for the person. This will help MMK cope with the growing volume of work and information: the company transports about 300 thousand tons of cargo per year, and the intensity of the use of transport already exceeds 3 million machine hours,” MegaFon’s Director for National Projects Ruslan Gaboev said.

Megafon will develop a series of technological modules for specific tasks of the enterprise. Based on data on the quality and timing of orders, compliance with routes, downtime and speed of movement, the program will be able to independently evaluate the efficiency of drivers, and by analyzing information about the state of the fleet, it will generate a request for service, which will help to avoid downtime and losses. A cartographic register of the movement of vehicles will also be developed, in which all participants in the process will be able to control the stages of transportation.

The platform will be able to automatically create waybills and register various transportation indicators. It also automates time-consuming manual processes such as reporting on tenders, orders, auctions, fines and debts.

“We are allocating more than 134 million rubles to automate the transport and logistics system and business processes of the company. This will make it possible to reduce the idle run of vehicles by 30%, reduce downtime on the line by up to 7%, halve the time spent on internal processes, and significantly save on fuel and lubricants. In addition, the solution will help prevent breakdowns, will remind of the need to undergo maintenance, and appoint the most high-quality and profitable carrier,” Viktor Shishkin, Director of Autotransport Administration LLC (MMK Group) noted.

For the convenience of the company’s employees and increasing the efficiency of decision-making, MegaFon is additionally adapting the web version of the system to work on mobile devices.

All information within the new platform will be stored in a closed circuit of MMK, which will ensure the confidentiality and security of data.
