MMK’s Corporate Games 2022 Win Event Competition
The Steelmakers’ Olympiad, organised by PJSC Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works ("MMK" or "the Company") for employees of Russia’s six largest companies in the metals industry and coinciding with MMK’s 90th anniversary, became the winner in the category “Best Project with New Event Solutions for Internal and External Communications” at the Best ACMR-Certified Event Team competition.
The awards ceremony was held in Moscow during a reception for event industry professionals. The ceremony brought together representatives of event management agencies, as well as companies from various sectors of the economy that, according to the organisers, held the most noteworthy and interesting events over the past year.
The competition jury particularly noted the scale of the Corporate Games 2022, which were held in Magnitogorsk on 19-21 May 2022 and gathered 217 amateur athletes. Current employees of MMK Group, NLMK, Evraz’s Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works, ChelPipe, Ural Steel and the Ural Automotive Plant competed at various corporate venues in eight sporting events, including streetball, shooting, go-cart racing, dragon boat racing, futsal, beach volleyball and table tennis. The arm-wrestling championship took place at MMK’s rolling mill shop No. 11 and was broadcast live on MMK’s page on the social network VKontakte.
MMK’s communications team came up with the idea to hold the Steelmakers’ Olympiad during preparations for the Company’s anniversary celebration. Employees from other metallurgical and industrial companies accepted the invitation to take part, and were able not only to share unforgettable emotions during the sporting competitions but also to learn about MMK’s production site and social facilities.
The expert jury also noted the concept and format of the Corporate Games 2022, which became a natural reflection of MMK’s extensive efforts to support sports and a healthy lifestyle, as well as to carry out charitable and social projects aimed at the Company employees and the residents of Magnitogorsk in general. The competitions were a lively, emotional and memorable occasion that underlined MMK’s values and its image as a socially responsible company, offering every employee unique opportunities for personal fulfilment.
The Best ACMR-Certified Event Team competition has been held since 2010 to celebrate the best agencies, teams, projects and suppliers in the event industry. It is organised by the Association of Communications and Corporate Media Directors and the MediaBusiness publishing house. Participants in this year’s competition included agencies, private and public companies, hotels, restaurants, exhibition centres, media companies and publishing houses.
