MMK Ski Resorts Named Among Tourism Industry Leaders

Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works’ Abzakovo and Bannoye ski resorts became the co-winners of the Bashkortostan Tourism Industry Leaders 2022 awards.

The competition was established in 2022 by the Tourism Development Centre of the Republic of Bashkortostan, an autonomous non-commercial organisation, in partnership with the region’s Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism. It aims to recognise the leading players in the regional tourism industry, promote their activities and enhance the prestige of the profession.

Forty-five representatives of the tourism industry were named industry leaders in various categories. Competition participants included regional tour operators; representatives of the hotel, glamping and sanatorium sectors; as well as individual guides. MMK’s Abzakovo and Bannoye ski resorts won the award in the “Best Ski Resort in the Republic of Bashkortostan” category. The winners received commemorative certificates and awards from the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

For over a decade, MMK’s ski resorts have been popular destinations for recreation and sports, drawing visitors from the surrounding regions as well as skiers from all over the country. The resorts regularly host prestigious competitions, from World Cup stages to national and regional events. In 2003, the Bannoye ski resort opened the first high-speed gondola lift in Russia.
