Metallurg Foundation ranked among top 10 charities in Russia

The Metallurg Foundation, whose main benefactor is Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), ranked eighth in RAEX’s rating of non-profit charities in Russia.

One of the largest social-service charities in the Ural region, the Metallurg Foundation carries out large-scale comprehensive programmes to support residents of Magnitogorsk and rural areas as well as cultural and educational projects.

The charity runs no fewer than 15 major ongoing programmes that focus on pensioners, people with disabilities, single mothers and low-income earners.

MMK, the Foundation’s main donor, established the charity in 1988. Last year, MMK earmarked RUB 739 million for charitable purposes, which is the main focus of the Group’s social policy.

During its 36-year history, the Metallurg Foundation has been repeatedly recognised for its efforts at regional and federal-level awards and competitions. Notably, the Foundation’s 2023 annual report was placed in the Silver Standard category at the 13th Benchmark (“Tochka Otscheta”) national competition that recognises voluntary public annual reports produced by socially oriented non-profit organisations.
