Production of SteelArt products (featuring multi-layered, decorative coatings) rose from 15.9 to 18.7 thousand tonnes, while sales of SteelArt products jumped by more than 25%, when compared to 2019.
2020 also saw MMK-LMZ change the way it interacts with consumers. Its decision to move to direct contracts has had a positive impact on the Company's financial performance.
Thanks to its high-quality products, prompt production and delivery times, and its flexible transport and logistics system, MMK-LMZ was able to grow its customer base throughout 2020. The Company's new clients can be found across all of Russia – in the Volga Region, Siberia, the Urals, the North Caucasus, and the Far East. MMK-LMZ also managed to successfully develop its presence abroad. For example, in 2020, the Company broke into the Uzbek and Kyrgyz markets, and made its first shipments to Estonia and Finland. Demand for the Company's products also remained consistently high in Kazakhstan.
"MMK-Lysvensky Metallurgical Plant is one of MMK Group's key assets. The Lysva site produces premium products that are not widely found in Russia," said Pavel Shilyaev, CEO of MMK Group, commenting on MMK-LMZ 2020 results. "Given the strong market demand for MMK-LMZ products, we are focusing a great deal of our attention on the further development of the plant. We see huge potential for this site going forward."
