MMK Chairman recognised with Director of the Year Award
Victor Rashnikov was awarded this title in the nomination '25 Best Chairmen of Board of Directors' at the decision of the expert panel of the 'Director of the Year' award. The award was established in 2006 by the Association of Independent Directors and PwC. The award ceremony was held on 21 November in Moscow.
The list of winners included two more representatives of MMK – Sergey Krivoshchekov, Director for Corporate Matters and Social Programmes, in the category '25 Best Directors for Corporate Governance' and Kirill Levin, member of the MMK Board of Directors, in the category 'Top 50 Independent Directors'.
Since 2009, the award has been co-organised by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs. The award recognises directors (including company executives, corporate and independent directors) for their personal contribution to the implementation of high standards of corporate governance.
MMK is one of the world's largest steel producers and a leading Russian metals company. The company's operations in Russia include a large steel-producing complex encompassing the entire production chain, from the preparation of iron ore to downstream processing of rolled steel. MMK turns out a broad range of steel products with a predominant share of high-value-added products. In 2017, the company produced 12.9 million tonnes of crude steel and 11.6 million tonnes of commercial steel products. MMK Group had sales in 2017 of USD 7,546 million and EBITDA of USD 2,032 million.
