MMK strengthens business in Uzbekistan

In 2020, MMK delivered 415.6 thousand tonnes of steel products to the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is slightly lower than in 2019. The share of shipments to Uzbekistan accounted for 82% of the total volume of shipments to Central Asian countries, and 35% of deliveries to the near abroad.

Among MMK's sales successes was the increase in the volume of rolled metal supplies to Uzbekistan's automotive industry in 2020 which was up by 43% compared to 2019 – from 26 to 37 thousand tonnes.

In 2020, MMK also delivered 15.5 thousand tonnes of hot-rolled coils to Tashkent Metallurgical Plant, which was launched last year and started commercial production of finished products. MMK is Tashkent Metallurgical Plant's main supplier of hot-rolled coils.

In addition, in 2020, the plant increased steel product shipments to Artel Group to 24 thousand tonnes (+42% compared to 2019). Artel Group is the largest manufacturer of household appliances in Central Asia.
