MMK recognized for its import-substitution product

SteelArt is a polymer rolled product with a decorative coating that accurately conveys the appearance and texture of natural materials. This rolling product is unique in the Russian market. Print technology, used in SteelArt production, allows to apply offset decorative drawings that mimic a variety of natural materials or reproducing design solutions to rolled-steel. State-of-the-art high-tech equipment ensures maximum print quality and creates a multi-color and three-dimensional image with synchronised 3D effect.

MMK-Lysva Metallurgical Plant, which produces this rolled metal, joined MMK Group last December and has significantly increased its capacity utilisation since then. In 9 months 2018, sales of the plant’s commercial products increased by 121% year-on-year: in particular, sales of SteelArt rolled products grew 324% year-on-year (in 9M 2018, 11,000 tonnes of steel were sold).

The 'Priooritet 2018' award ceremony took place on 19 November in Moscow. The guests included representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the state Duma's Committees, the Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Fund. Overall, 160 Russian companies were nominated in 30 categories.

MMK has been the winner of the award for the third consecutive year: in 2017, the Company received the award for the development of facilities for the production of high-quality galvanised rolled products, and the year before it received the award for the development of high-strength and wear-resistant steel MAGSTRONG and its introduction in industry. The annual contest in import substitution 'Prioritet' was established in order to identify and promote the best Russian technologies, solutions, goods and services. Today "Prioritet" is the first and only authoritative award in Russia recognising the country's best enterprises that have been most successful in import substitution.
