MMK launched production of new class of high-strength super-low-carbon microalloyed hot-galvanized steel grades designed for a wide range of industries

mmk_logo_element.jpgMagnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, OJSC (MMK), launched production of new class of high-strength super-low-carbon microalloyed hot-galvanized steel grades designed for a wide range of industries

The Metal Expo 2010 award-winning class of steel was jointly developed by MMK and Central Scientific Research Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy. The new steel products are characterized by high strength and plasticity and yield points higher than 210 MPa (up to 800 MPa and even 1200 MPa).

The newly introduced steel grades are used by carmakers and home appliances manufacturers. The use of high-strength rolled products in the car-making industry makes automobiles additionally safe, less heavy and therefore more efficient. In addition, the high strength rolled steel products have been increasingly used in the construction industry.
