MMK continues to develop its customer services
The QR code allows users to download an electronic copy of the certificate onto their device. This service has been available since June 2019. The implementation of QR codes was carried out by specialists of MMK-Informservice (a subsidiary of MMK Group) together with the MMK Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department.
Previously, the authentication of the quality certificates was available on the Company's website and required the details of the certificate. The new development is part of a large-scale digitalisation programme, designed not only to reduce production costs but also to increase the convenience of customer services.
MMK has also developed a service to provide shipment data in electronic form. Now customers can quickly receive information about the shipment of purchased metal products, which speeds up the unloading and eliminates the human factor in the processing of shipping documents. This free of charge service is now used by the main consumers of MMK products, including Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant, United Metallurgical Company and Volzhsky Pipe Plant.
In addition to online services, MMK provides legal documents, including quality certificates and invoices, through the electronic document management system (EDMS). This brings the exchange of documents between enterprises to a new level, eliminating paper workflows.
At the moment, MMK is in the process of providing electronic copies of quality certificates with an electronic digital signature to all customers.
MMK is one of the world's largest steel producers and a leading Russian metals company. The company's operations in Russia include a large steel-producing unit encompassing the entire production chain, from the preparation of iron ore to downstream processing of rolled steel. MMK turns out a broad range of steel products with a predominant share of high-value-added products. In 2018, the company produced 12.7 mln tonnes of crude steel and 11.7 mln tonnes of commercial steel products. MMK Group had sales in 2018 of USD 8,214 mln and EBITDA of USD 2,418 mln.
