MMK funds arrive in accounts of victims affected by building housing collapse in Magnitogorsk
The charity fund Metallurg, which distributes MMK's targeted assistance funds, reported that as of Friday, 11 January 2019, 162 people who have been affected in various degrees of severity by the accident had applied for financial assistance from the Fund. 126 people applied for financial assistance in connection with a loss of property and 40 applications were received from relatives of victims of the tragedy.
All applications are promptly processed. During the week beginning the 4th January, when the Mettalurg Fund started accepting applications, RUB 64.733 million was transferred to personal accounts out of the RUB 100 million that Victor Rashnikov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC MMK, decided to allocate as targeted financial assistance. Applications for assistance continue to be accepted.
Earlier it was reported, that in line with MMK’s decision, close relatives (spouses, children, parents and dependents) will receive RUB 1 million, divided equally, for each person who lost their life in the tragedy. Those injured will receive RUB 200,000 for light injuries or RUB 400,000 for heavier injuries. In addition, to help compensate the loss of property, apartment owners and those renting under social tenancy agreements will receive from RUB 300,000 to RUB 500,000 depending on the number of rooms in the apartment.
