MMK hosts an anniversary meeting for rolling mill operators

The on-going programme celebrated its 100th anniversary since the relaunch of this initiative in 2000. Each forum consists of several stages which are held in succession at the companies who are taking part in the initiative. As a result of this exchange, the largest companies in the steel industry are able to develop and implement many new recommendations to improve their production process.

More than 30 people are taking part in the event, including representatives fr om MMK, NLMK, Severstal, Chermetcom and Arcelor Mittal (Timertau, Kazakhstan).

During the course of the event, there will be reports and presentations given by participants, as well as a tour of the MMK production sites. The guests will be shown a demonstration of metal coating and will visit rolling Mill 2000, the most modern cold-sheet rolling mill at MMK which is located in the sheet-rolling workshop No.11. The main purpose of the mill is to produce high quality cold-rolled and galvanised steel for both external and internal car parts, as well as for household appliance manufacturers and the construction industry.

The Magnitogorsk stage of the event will last two days. Upon completion, the participants will move on to Cherepovets and Lipetsk wh ere the event will continue.
