MMK’s 90th Anniversary Communication Campaign Recognised at National Award
Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) was recognised at the prestigious national Silver Archer Award in public relations in the Corporate Communications category, for the Company’s communications campaign celebrating the 90th anniversary of MMK.
The Company’s anniversary became a common theme for all of MMK’s external and internal communications in 2022, with the campaign itself combining various internal and external communication channels and events – including for Company employees and residents of Magnitogorsk – as well as special projects and branding initiatives.
In marking the anniversary, MMK's Information, Public Relations and Advertising Department highlighted the longstanding history and latest achievements of the plant in terms of its production potential and social and environmental work, as well as reaffirming its position of a leader in Russian and global ferrous metallurgy.
Despite significant changes in the external environment tied to the deteriorating economic situation, the Company succeeded in implementing a wide range of memorable projects – from the Corporate Games 2022, which brought together over 200 amateur athletes representing some of Russia’s leading metallurgical companies, to the publication of the books “Chronicle of the Fiery Years” and “Magnitka. Reflection. History in Photos”.
Founded in 1997, the national Silver Archer Award in public relations recognises the individuals behind the most significant communications projects and the professionals who have made a significant contribution to the development of public relations. The competition's experts and jurors include communications specialists from major companies and agencies, as well as representatives of educational and public organisations.
