MMK-COAL Named Among Winners of ‘Russia’s 100 Best Products’ Competition
MMK-COAL (part of MMK Group) has been recognised as one of the top producers in the country at a nationwide competition. The Company’s Zh-grade coal concentrate was also named among Russia’s 100 best products.
The prestigious competition was established by Russia’s national standardization body, Rosstandart, in partnership with the interregional non-governmental organisation Academy for Quality-Related Issues and the Standards and Quality information agency. The recognition of MMK-COAL is a testament to the Company’s highly competitive products and its strict compliance with technical standards and regulations.
According to Vladimir Kharchenko, Director of MMK-COAL, Zh-grade coal concentrate is a valuable feedstock for the steelmaking industry that meets international quality standards. The product stands out for its low content of moisture and volatile substances, as well as an ash content that does not exceed 8.5%.
MMK-COAL’s unique product entered the market thanks to the large-scale technical overhaul at the Company over the past several years. As a result of the reconstruction, MMK’s beneficiation plant – which is one of the oldest in Russia’s Kuzbass region – emerged among the leaders in efficient and environmentally friendly production.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the annual competition for ‘Russia’s 100 Best Products’. It is held in two stages, at the regional and national levels, and targets various types of companies, organisations and individual entrepreneurs involved in manufacturing or service provision. The competition aims to expand the production of competitive, high-quality products and technologies throughout Russia.
